From the treatment room

A considered collection of the questions, conversations and skin concerns that come up most often in my treatment room.

Here, I take a little more time to explore how treatments work, who they may suit and when a different approach might be more appropriate bringing together my clinical experience, a holistic perspective and an honest look at the evidence.

I’ve tested the devices clients keep asking about

Six categories of home device, what I’ve found using them, and where the published evidence disagrees with me.

The short answer

Most of them do something. Few do enough to justify what they cost, and one category causes harm often enough that I ask people to stop. If you buy one thing, buy a light mask you’ll genuinely sit under.
