Tell me about your skin

It comes straight to me, and nobody else reads it.

  • About two minutes
  • Two are optional
  • None of it is medical
What brings you in?

What brings you in?

There’s no wrong answer here. It just tells me where to start.

If you chose “Something specific about my skin”

These are the ones for you. Leave the other groups blank. I only read the set that matches your first answer.

Which of these is closest?

Which of these is closest?

Describe it the way you’d tell a friend. I won’t hold you to it.

How long has it been like this?

How long has it been like this?

Rough is fine.

How much are you putting on your face at the moment?

How much are you putting on your face at the moment?

I ask because the answer is often the answer. Most people arrive using more than they need. The first thing I do is usually take things away.

What have you already tried?

What have you already tried?

Products, treatments, anything a professional has recommended. Knowing what hasn’t worked saves us both a lot of time. Please leave out anything medical: medication, conditions, allergies. We cover that properly in the room, on a private form.

Optional

If you chose “Keeping my skin in good condition”

These are the ones for you. Leave the other groups blank. I only read the set that matches your first answer.

What are you doing for your skin at the moment?

What are you doing for your skin at the moment?

No judgement in either direction.

How often would you realistically want to come?

How often would you realistically want to come?

I’d rather build something you’ll keep than something that looks good written down.

Is there anything you’d like it to do for you?

Is there anything you’d like it to do for you?

Something as loose as “I want to look less tired” is useful. Please leave out anything medical. We cover that in the room, on a private form.

Optional

If you chose “An event coming up”

These are the ones for you. Leave the other groups blank. I only read the set that matches your first answer.

When is it?

When is it?

The date changes my answer more than anything else you could tell me.

What is it?

What is it?

It changes what I’d work on, and how far I’d push it.

Have you had a professional facial before?

Have you had a professional facial before?

This one matters more than usual. I don’t like introducing anything new to skin close to a date that matters.

Anything you’d particularly like settled by then?

Anything you’d particularly like settled by then?

It doesn’t have to be one thing. Please leave out anything medical. We cover that in the room, on a private form.

Optional

If you chose “I genuinely don’t know”

These are the ones for you. Leave the other groups blank. I only read the set that matches your first answer.

What do you notice, when you look?

What do you notice, when you look?

There’s no right way to answer this. “Dull”, “tired”, “it doesn’t look like it used to” are all perfectly good answers. They tell me more than a list would. Please leave out anything medical. We cover that in the room, on a private form.

What are you using on your skin at the moment?

What are you using on your skin at the moment?

I ask because the answer is often the answer. Most people arrive using more than they need.

Have you had a professional facial before?

Have you had a professional facial before?

There’s a first appointment I built for exactly this, so it’s worth knowing.

Lastly, how do I reach you?

Lastly, how do I reach you?

I answer these myself, usually between clients. You’ll hear from me, usually within a couple of days.

One of these is enough.

Why I ask

Knowing a little about you and your skin before you arrive means we can make better use of your appointment. Tell me what you’re noticing, what you currently use and anything you’ve already tried.

You don’t need to diagnose your skin or use the correct terminology. Whether it’s dryness or dehydration, rosacea or a compromised barrier, scarring or pigmentation that’s what I’m here to work out.

Write to me as you would a friend. I’ll assess your skin properly when you arrive, and we’ll decide on the most appropriate treatment from there.

I came to Hanaà for acne scarring. She immediately made me feel at ease with what can be an embarrassing conversation. She recommended microneedling and the results have been incredible.

If you’d rather just talk

Some things are quicker said than typed. Ring or email me and I’ll answer when I’m between clients.
