Terms and conditions

The terms for using this website and for booking a treatment with me. Written to be read once and understood, rather than agreed to without being read.

In short

Everything on this site is general information, not a diagnosis, and no treatment outcome is guaranteed.

Prices are published in full and honoured as shown when you booked. Give as much notice as you can if you need to move an appointment.

If something goes wrong, tell me early and I’ll put it right. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 stand whatever this page says.

Who you are dealing with

The Priory Room is a sole trader business run by Hanaà Prior at 29 Haven Road, Canford Cliffs, Poole, BH13 7LE. When these terms say “I”, they mean her. When they say “you”, they mean whoever is reading the site or booking the appointment.

These terms are written in plain English on purpose. If any part of them is unclear, ask before you book rather than after.

Using this website

You are welcome to read, print and share anything here. In return, please do not attempt to interfere with the site, extract its content in bulk for republication, or submit anything through a form that is unlawful, abusive or someone else’s information passed off as yours.

The site is offered as it is. I keep it available and accurate as far as I reasonably can. But I can’t promise it will never be down, and I may change or remove pages without notice.

Information here is not a diagnosis

The treatment and skin concern pages are written to help you understand what a condition is and what might help. They are general information. They are not a diagnosis, they are not a treatment plan, and they are not a substitute for seeing your GP, a dermatologist or a pharmacist.

If something on your skin is changing, bleeding, not healing, or worrying you, see a doctor first. I’ll say the same thing in the room, and I’d rather you heard it before you booked.

I do not guarantee results. Skin responds differently in different people, and what a treatment is aimed at is not a promise of what it will do for you.

Prices

Prices are shown on the treatments page, include VAT where it applies, and are the prices in force on the day the page is loaded. I publish the full list rather than asking you to enquire. If a price changes before your appointment, I’ll still honour the one you were shown when you booked.

A price shown “from” a figure is the starting point for the shortest version of that treatment. Where a treatment is offered as a course, the course price is stated alongside the single-session price.

Payment is taken at the appointment unless a deposit was requested at the time of booking.

Booking an appointment

Appointments are taken through the online booking system, by phone on 07525 438309, or by email. A booking is confirmed when you receive a confirmation, not when the request is sent.

I treat one client at a time in one room. There’s no second practitioner and no rota, so an appointment is a specific block of my day rather than a slot on a system.

Some treatments are marked consultation required and carry no price on this site. That’s a legal restriction on what may be advertised to the public, not a negotiating position. Book the consultation and everything relevant will be explained to you in person.

Changing or cancelling

Plans change, and I’d always rather you moved an appointment than pushed through one you’re not well enough for. Please give me as much notice as you can. A slot released the night before is a slot nobody else can take.

The notice period that applies to your booking, and any deposit, are stated on the booking page and repeated in your confirmation. Those are the terms that apply to your appointment.

If you arrive late I’ll do what I can. The treatment may have to be shortened so the person after you isn’t kept waiting, and the full price still applies.

If I ever have to cancel or move your appointment, it’ll be for illness or something genuinely unavoidable. I’ll let you know as early as I can. I’ll rebook you at your convenience, and refund any deposit in full if you’d rather not rebook.

Consultations, patch tests and suitability

Before your first treatment I take a consultation covering your skin, your health and anything you’re using or taking. It exists to keep you safe. Please answer it fully, and tell me if anything changes between appointments, particularly medication, pregnancy, recent sun exposure, or any procedure you’ve had elsewhere.

Some treatments require a patch test in advance. Where one is needed I’ll tell you when you book, and the treatment can’t go ahead without it.

I may decline to carry out a treatment, or change it on the day, if I judge it isn’t appropriate for your skin at that moment. That judgement is the service you’re paying for. It isn’t a decision I’ll trade for a booking.

Aftercare instructions are given after every treatment and are also on the site. Following them is part of the treatment working.

Gift cards

Gift cards can be used against any treatment. They’re valid for twelve months from the date of purchase, they’re not exchangeable for cash, and they can’t be replaced if lost. Please treat one like a banknote.

If a gift card is worth more than the treatment booked, the balance stays on the card until it expires. If it’s worth less, the difference is payable at the appointment.

Because gift cards are bought online, you have fourteen days from purchase to change your mind and receive a full refund, provided the card hasn’t been used. Email me and it’s done.

If something goes wrong

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 a service must be carried out with reasonable care and skill, within a reasonable time, and for a reasonable price where none was agreed. If I fall short of that, you are entitled to ask me to put it right, and to a reduction in price if putting it right is not possible or not done within a reasonable time. Those rights are not affected by anything on this page.

In practice: tell me. Call or email within a few days, while I can still see what you’re describing. I’ll ask you to come in and look properly, and we’ll go through what I think has happened. I’d rather have a difficult ten minutes than lose your trust.

If we can’t resolve it between us, you’re free to take the matter further, including through your local Citizens Advice consumer service or the courts.

Words and pictures

The text, photographs, layout and branding on this site belong to me or are used with permission. Quote a paragraph and link back, by all means. Do not lift whole pages onto another clinic’s website. It happens in this industry more often than it should.

Links to other sites

Where I link out, it’s because the link is useful: the booking system, a professional body, a product brand. I don’t control those sites, I’m not responsible for their content, and their terms and privacy policies apply once you arrive. The cookies page explains what does and doesn’t follow you across.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits my liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

Beyond that, my liability in connection with a treatment is limited to the price you paid for it. I am not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, for example loss of earnings arising because an appointment could not go ahead.

I hold professional indemnity and public liability insurance appropriate to the treatments I carry out.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your own courts.

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.

Anything here unclear?

Ask me. I wrote these pages to be read, not to be scrolled past. Email hanaa@theprioryroom.com or call 07525 438309.
